Mega pixel

Definition:
A pixel is the smallest measurable and addressable unit of a raster image on a computer or electronic display. A single dot in this cartoon image can be referred to as a pixel on the computer screen.
One Mega pixel (MP) is in fact a million pixels. Mega pixels, are used to indicate the number of pixels in an image, the number of image sensors in digital cameras or the number of display elements of electronic or digital displays.

Definition:
The term dpi or dots per inch is usually used to indicate the resolution or the density of dots. It is used in various media for example in printing. Dot per inch literally means the number of dots per inch. The higher the dpi the higher the quality of the image.
